Valued Volunteers

Beloit-Volunteer 2The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that in the United States, women volunteer more than men, married people volunteer more than singles, and parents volunteer more than those without kids. Azura Memory Care of Beloit is lucky to have many dedicated volunteers. Thank you Tom Dummer, Dorothy Danner, Wayne Roholff and Denise Quinn for your time and talent. Our residents love the time you spend with them doing puzzles, crafts, playing music and dancing.

Volunteering is about giving, contributing and helping other individuals and the community. Volunteering means working with others to make a meaningful contribution to a better community. One estimated dollar value of volunteer time is $21.36 per hour. According to the Corporation for National and Community Service, about 63.4 million Americans — nearly 27 percent of the adult population — contribute a collective 8.1 billion hours of volunteer service worth $169 billion a year.

The value of volunteering is much deeper, much more fulfilling and much more important in contributing to a healthy and vibrant community than money can ever measure. Many people want to gain experience, acquire new skills, meet new people or expand their network of contacts as a way to get a new job or start a career. Others just want to give back to their community, help a friend or promote a worthwhile activity. They do it because it makes them feel good.

Beloit-Volunteer 1Do you have a little time and talent to share or was your New Year’s Resolution to give back this year? Volunteers at Azura Memory Care may play cards, lead a craft, take walks or just offer conversation. Volunteers may come once a week or once a month. Please contact the Azura Memory Care location nearest you to find out more about volunteer opportunities.
