Really? Do we need an excuse to bake and eat some homemade cookies? Just in case, October 1 is the annual celebration of National Homemade Cookie Day.
In its honor, our residents at Azura Memory Care of Beloit got busy. They measured, rolled, baked and decorated. Inhale and smell them now…use your imagination. Nothing beats a home filled with the aroma of homemade cookies baking in the oven. Nothing except eating them! And, of course, we did that too!
Our residents remembered the excitement felt while waiting for the kids to come home from school to warm homemade cookies and a glass of cold milk. Those wonderful memories brought smiles to our faces and simply warmed our hearts.
So, please get your coffee cup or glass of milk ready and get baking. It is never too late to celebrate National Homemade Cookie Day!
"We want to thank you for the loving special care you took of our mother, Diane. It was truly mom's home and you all became part of our family. Everything was home for her....from the beautiful rooms, large sunny windows all around, good food made with love, fun and personal activities from people who really loved our mom. We would highly recommend your facility to anyone. The staff from the director, to the doctor, to the nurse, to the caregivers and the maintenance man were all extremely helpful, caring, loving and professional. There are not enough words to say how much we appreciate all of you. Your exceptional care, kindness, and love were beyond anything we could have imagined. You were part of our family, and we will miss you." - Gail Sommers and Deborah Guse
