What would your dream day be? At Azura Memory Care we are asking our residents this question everyday to further tap into the person-hood of each individual and find ways to bring them JOY! For one Azura of Eau Claire resident, it was to experience a full day of pampering and to have a glamour shot done to capture the essence of the day. Marietta or Titsa, as we all know and love her, has always loved the theater, movies and dancing. In her younger days she even appeared as a dancer in the Academy Award and Golden Globe winning movie An American in Paris, sharing the screen with actor, dancer and film producer, Gene Kelly!
This love for all things glamorous has continued with Titsa throughout her life and her diagnosis. In fact, whenever show tunes play you can find her singing and smiling along! Knowing how much these special days meant to Titsa, the MOSAIC Dreams squad worked with her hospice organization, St. Croix Hospice, to create a special day of pampering and glamour just for her.
Working with students from the Chippewa Valley Technical College Cosmetology Department, she received a manicure, pedicure, facial, makeup and a hair style. The Azura Team asked a former team member, who now owns her own company Conn Artists Photography, to bring in equipment to help set the mood and capture Titsa’s beautiful smile!
When the morning started Titsa was barely able to keep her eyes open, but as the pampering began her smile quickly returned, along with a dramatic twinkle that only a true Movie Star can share. It was a great day and again proves that with a MOSAIC of support, magical moments can still bring forth the star inside!
Thank you to St. Croix Hospice, the Chippewa Valley Technical College Cosmetology Department, Second Wind Dreams, and the Azura of Eau Claire team for partnering with us to make Titsa’s special day come true!

"We want to thank you for the loving special care you took of our mother, Diane. It was truly mom's home and you all became part of our family. Everything was home for her....from the beautiful rooms, large sunny windows all around, good food made with love, fun and personal activities from people who really loved our mom. We would highly recommend your facility to anyone. The staff from the director, to the doctor, to the nurse, to the caregivers and the maintenance man were all extremely helpful, caring, loving and professional. There are not enough words to say how much we appreciate all of you. Your exceptional care, kindness, and love were beyond anything we could have imagined. You were part of our family, and we will miss you." - Gail Sommers and Deborah Guse
