A Mama Mia! of a great Azura MOSAIC Dream come true! Watch as music speaks to the soul and through the lips of a woman with Alzheimer’s! Thank you Mama Mia! cast and the Overture Center of Madison for all of your help!!
MAMA MIA! MOSAIC Dreams do Come True!
“We are nothing without a song or dance,” Mama Mia!
The Azura Memory Care MOSAIC Dream squad had the honor of making one resident’s dream to attend a Broadway Show and have a date with her daughters come true!
Thanks to the Overture Center of Madison who assisted us with not only getting seats close enough so that Marion could see the stage, but also provided enough free tickets for Marion, her family and a caregiver from Azura to attend. In addition, they reached out to their contacts at Broadway Across America who was able to tell the cast of Mama Mia! about Marion. As a result, nearly a dozen performers from Mama Mia! came to meet and shake hands with Marion and her family after the show.
You see singing and performing have been a lifelong passion of Marion’s, who was just one semester shy of receiving her music degree from the Milwaukee School of Music, when she left to get married and start a family. While raising her children she continued to sing and teach piano lessons, passing this passion on to her daughter who now teaches piano herself and uses this talent to tap into memories with her mother, who still sings with a beautiful opera-sounding voice.
Like many of our MOSAIC Dreams it takes a personalized approach to make a dream come true and many people working together to make it happen. In addition, inspiration from Second Wind Dreams too! However, seeing Marion’s face light up when the show started and realizing that she was singing along to the songs was definitely worth all of the effort!
For that moment Marion, a former vocal teacher, was back in her element and having her best day and that is what MOSAIC Dreams are all about! Best days, joyful moments and dreams coming true!

"We want to thank you for the loving special care you took of our mother, Diane. It was truly mom's home and you all became part of our family. Everything was home for her....from the beautiful rooms, large sunny windows all around, good food made with love, fun and personal activities from people who really loved our mom. We would highly recommend your facility to anyone. The staff from the director, to the doctor, to the nurse, to the caregivers and the maintenance man were all extremely helpful, caring, loving and professional. There are not enough words to say how much we appreciate all of you. Your exceptional care, kindness, and love were beyond anything we could have imagined. You were part of our family, and we will miss you." - Gail Sommers and Deborah Guse
