Being there for our residents as their time on earth ends is one of the hardest moments that our Azura Memory Care Team handles, but it is also our honor. Jami our Assistant Director of our Azura Memory Care of Manitowoc and Sheboygan homes knew that a residents time was quickly ending.
Unfortunately, due to distance the family would be unable to be there, so Jami took it upon herself to sit and hold his hand. As the final moments approached Jami called the family and offered them the opportunity tell their dad they loved him one last time. They may have not been able to physically be present, but with the use of technology they could talk to him and assure him they were with him in spirit.
The daughter was so grateful that it allowed her the opportunity to share in her dads last minutes of life. It lessened the guilt she felt for not being with him and gave her the peace knowing she had the opportunity to speak to him one last time. Jami your concern for this resident and his family was truly EXCEPTIONAL! Thank you for all that you do!
"We want to thank you for the loving special care you took of our mother, Diane. It was truly mom's home and you all became part of our family. Everything was home for her....from the beautiful rooms, large sunny windows all around, good food made with love, fun and personal activities from people who really loved our mom. We would highly recommend your facility to anyone. The staff from the director, to the doctor, to the nurse, to the caregivers and the maintenance man were all extremely helpful, caring, loving and professional. There are not enough words to say how much we appreciate all of you. Your exceptional care, kindness, and love were beyond anything we could have imagined. You were part of our family, and we will miss you." - Gail Sommers and Deborah Guse
