Virtual Dementia Tour Set for Beloit – November 13th

“There is no greater form of respect, than to walk in someone else’s shoes.” ~ PK Beville, Creator of the Virtual Dementia Tour

Azura Memory Care of Beloit and Clinton is excited to be holding the World-Renowned Virtual Dementia Tour on Wednesday, November 13th from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Home2 Suites, which is located at 2750 Cranston Road in Beloit.

Every hour a group of 20 attendees will be provided with a presentation about the Virtual Dementia Tour, be given the opportunity to experience the 10 minute experiential tour and then discuss and learn techniques to better communicate and engage those with memory loss.

As part of Azura’s exclusive MOSAIC Training and Engagement philosophy, the Virtual Dementia Tour is an EXCEPTIONAL way for those without memory loss to gain understanding of what those with dementia see, hear and feel.  It also explains why they may act or react in the ways that they do and give a better view into the world they live in every day.

FREE 1.5 hours of CEUs will available to RN, NAB, NASW, NAAPC, CDRT (Nurses, Nursing Home Administrators, Social Workers, Activity Professionals and Dietetic Professionals).

Below are the times available for the community to join Azura Memory Care in experiencing the Virtual Dementia Tour. Please select only one time slot:

The Virtual Dementia Tour was created by PK Beville and is a trademarked and patented program provided by Second Wind Dreams.  Second Wind Dreams is a nonprofit organization, based out of Atlanta, Georgia that is committed to changing the perception of aging and fulfilling the dreams of our elders. Azura is proud to also partner with Second Wind Dreams on our Azura’s MOSAIC Dreams program too, which helps make our resident’s best days come true!

The Virtual Dementia Tour is used internationally in 27 different countries to enhance the care and understanding of those living with dementia.  Millions of people have experienced the Virtual Dementia Tour and each comes away with a more compassionate heart, mindful approach to caring for those with memory loss and awareness that the person with dementia has a disease they can not control, but are only trying to survive.
